Using the 'Rule of Three' to communicate memorable ideas
Tips, takeouts and things to try
1
Building the rule of threes into your writing avoids the tension created between contrasting twos or clashing fours. Threes flow, and stick in the mind.
2
Think — three words in a sentence, three ideas in a presentation, three sentences in a paragraph (just like this one).
3
If you find yourself with two key points, split one into two. Sounds contrived? Ben believes the benefits may be hidden, but are always there.
Easy as 1, 2, 3…
Stop, look and listen. A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play. I came, I saw, I conquered. How many examples of the Rule of Three can you think off?
